Peiyun Chien – Winner of 2020 Symetra Classic
After receiving nearly 2 inches of rain from Saturday into Sunday, course conditions at LPGA International have deteriorated to the point they become unplayable. With additional rain expected in Daytona Beach, Symetra Tour officials decided to reduce the 2020 Symetra Classic to 54 holes, with the results posted after Saturday’s third round considered final.
For the second time, Peiyun Chien (Pingtung, Chinese Taipei) is a champion on the “Road to the LPGA.” After carding a 2-under on Saturday and finishing 14-under par overall after a birdie on the last hole, Chien takes home the champion title as the course was unplayable after 54 holes.
“I’m really excited to get this win. My new swing change helped me get here this week. Thank you to the Symetra Tour for all your hard work this week and I look forward to competing with the LPGA Tour next week,” said Chien.
